Tignes – Val Claret

In February 2016 I went on a holiday with friends to the French ski resort Tignes. We stayed in a little town called Val Claret. One of the several towns that are collectively called Tignes. Right next to Tignes there is another ski area Val d’Isere. The two ski areas Tignes and Val d’Isere together form the larger ski area l’Espace Killy for which we bought our ski passes.

Après Ski

When Après Ski parties is your thing, I wouldn’t advice you to go to Tignes. It isn’t much fun. There are some bars but there are no big parties going on there. If you’re searching to party in TIgnes anyway, you should go visit La Foulie Douce on the slope near Val d’Isere. From the afternoon until the slope lifts are closing there is a party going on with MC’s and loud music. It’s very over the top, but that makes it a fun thing to visit.

People

Tignes is a resort where mainly English and Scandinavian people stay for wintersports. We only incidently  stumbled upon other Dutch people. So if you like to enjoy your wintersports holiday around other Dutch people, this is not the place to go. By the way, the English and Scandinavian aren’t bad at all.
